You sleep at three private safari lodges: Rotavi Lodge, Oukraal and ViervanAcht. Each has its own character, and the whole reserve is yours alone for one group of up to ten (optional two extra by special arrangement).

The Valley Basecamp · Start & End Point

Rotavi Lodge

Your start and end point. A comfortable, established lodge low in the valley. You arrive on Day 1 to register and get your briefing, leave the car in secure shaded parking, and come back on Day 4 to shower, eat and head home.

The Bush Lodge · Night 2

Oukraal

Deep in the thick bushveld, where the evening sounds of the wild are close. You reach it on Day 2 after the crossing over Groenkop, with your luggage and food already there.

The Mountain Lodge · Night 3

ViervanAcht

Higher up the ridges, with distant views. This is where you watch the sun drop behind the mountains. You arrive on Day 3 along the high-ridge traverse, by way of the Welgedacht lookout over the Marakele range.
