The Safari Lodges
The Rooiberg Wander is point-to-point: you walk from one private safari lodge to the next and sleep somewhere new each night — a pool, a fire and a real bed at the end of every day. Three distinct lodges, one premium standard.
Up to ten guests, with an optional two by special arrangement. The lodges are yours exclusively — no other guests, ever.
Each of the three lodges is fully equipped to the same standard, so you carry only a daypack and everything you need is waiting when you arrive.
The Valley Basecamp · Start & End Point
Day 1 arrival & Day 4 return · the valley basecamp
Your start and end point. A comfortable, established lodge low in the valley. You arrive on Day 1 to register and get your briefing, leave the car in secure shaded parking, and come back on Day 4 to shower, eat and head home.
The Bush Lodge · Night 2
Day 2 · Rotavi Lodge → Oukraal, over Groenkop
Deep in the thick bushveld, where the evening sounds of the wild are close. You reach it on Day 2 after the crossing over Groenkop, with your luggage and food already there.
The Mountain Lodge · Night 3
Day 3 · Oukraal → ViervanAcht, via the Elandsberg L-Kloof
Higher up the ridges, with distant views. This is where you watch the sun drop behind the mountains. You arrive on Day 3 along the high-ridge traverse, by way of the Welgedacht lookout over the Marakele range.
